Lynn Science Center & Heim Science Building
The Lynn Science Center, constructed in 2015, houses modern classrooms, computer labs, student lounges and study rooms, faculty offices, and the state-of-the-art Detwiler Planetarium. There are also several research and teaching labs with cutting-edge equipment accessible to astronomy, astrophysics, and physics students starting freshman year.
The Heim Science Building is where most of our biochemistry, biology, and chemistry classes are held. A new biochemistry suite with teaching and faculty research laboratories was added in the summer of 2019. Our entire facility, including the specialty labs for cadavers, genetics, tissue culture, animals, and microbiology, is equipped with state-of-the-art technology available to students starting freshman year.

Lycoming Biology Field Station
💧 Clean Water Institute
The Clean Water Institute is comprised of Lycoming College faculty and students and contributes to the area’s understanding and health of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River and its tributaries, providing students with the opportunity to gain hands-on field experience in our local waterways. CWI services local watershed and environmental groups, creates education and training opportunities, and analyzes water chemistry, macroinvertebrate, plankton, and fish. Learn more about CWI.
🍃 Lycoming Biology Field Station
The Lycoming Biology Field Station is located on 116 acres of land just 15 minutes from campus. The College’s biology department uses the field station for courses in aquatic biology, ecology, plant science, vertebrate and invertebrate zoology, and environmental biology as well as student research and practicum projects. Student interns with the College's Clean Water Institute (CWI) use the field station to test water quality, identify and evaluate tree diversity, assess wetlands, and a compile plant and mammal inventory.
