This is our new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) building that houses the following majors: Physics, Engineering, Math, Film/Media, Illustration, and Animation. Once the building is complete, the STEAM Institute will have a design studio, trading room, creative space, machine shop, robotic design room, animation studio, film & media studio, math space, advanced physics lab, and so much more!

Film
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and the Bachelor of Science in Film offer students a comprehensive experience in the creation of independent motion pictures through a rigorous, hands-on production centered curriculum.
The JU Film program strives to create master visual storytellers who can connect with their audiences intellectually and emotionally.
Animation
Our program is grounded in knowledge of animation as researched by our instructors and informed by the experiences of our alumni and professionals within the discipline. Our rigorous curriculum equips you with both immediately marketable skills and the ability to adapt to constant and extensive change within the animation industry.
Game Design
Our Bachelor of Science in Game Design degree within our Linda Berry Stein College of Fine Arts, School of Art & Design, is designed to prepare students for the complexities of working with interactive media with a specialized focus on game design, programming, and visualization skills. Through interactive strategies, students will develop console, mobile, and VR structures for a variety of industry applications.
Students who pursue a major in Game Design can expect to enter the field of Interactive Media as game designers, game developers, engineer programmers, software developers, software engineers, UI/UX designers, tech artists, web developers, and many others.
Graphic Design
Through a process of investigation, making and critique, you will develop a broad critical framework for evaluating design and how to apply it to every aspect of business, from classic Graphic Design and visual communication to user-centered interactions and multi-platform campaigns.

This option is intended for students who wish to pursue graduate study in physics, conduct research in physics, and/or teach physics.
Mechanical Engineering
JU’s Mechanical Engineering major prepares students to apply the principles and techniques of science and engineering to the design and manufacturing of a product. It combines creativity, knowledge, and analytical tools to complete the difficult task of shaping an idea into reality. Through design projects integrated into the curriculum, JU Mechanical engineers learn how to design and analyze products using the principles of motion, energy, and force, ensuring that their designs are sustainable and environmentally friendly while functioning safely, efficiently, and reliably, all at a competitive cost.
Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity professionals are responsible for anything from responding to simple hacking threats to complex ransomware attacks. With the demand for this profession at an all-time high, students graduating from this program are able to find jobs right after they graduate. Our graduates are accepting jobs as cybersecurity specialists and information security analysts responsible for the design and operation of computer systems and networks for businesses and government agencies.
Electrical Engineering
JU’s Electrical Engineering major prepares students to design, develop, test, and manage electrical equipment manufacturing. It combines creativity, knowledge, and analytical tools to complete the difficult task of shaping an idea into reality. Through design projects integrated into the curriculum, JU electrical engineers learn how to design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacturing of electrical equipment, such as electric motors, radar and navigation systems, communications systems and power generation equipment.
Computing Science
The JU Computing Science program offers small class sizes in computer labs. This provides students with one-on-one interaction with faculty. The program emphasizes the development of analytical and problem-solving skills, communication, and teamwork – all areas that are highly valued in the industry.
Engineering Physics
This option is intended for students who wish to teach physics or engineering and/or work in fields related to engineering and physics that do not require a complete set of advanced engineering or physics training such as engineering technologist, lab technician, and sustainability.
