Pre-Medical Advising
As an undergraduate, you can take advantage of a wide variety of research opportunities and will have access to state-of-the-art facilities on campus and through partnerships with institutions across New York City and around the world. Interdisciplinary collaboration is often a focus. This includes the Data Science Institute, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Nevis Laboratories, and more.
Interested in engineering? Today’s global challenges of renewable energy, food and water sustainability, mobility and communications, healthcare, and security all require the skills and abilities of an engineer. This is what motivates a Columbia Engineer - to research and design in order to make an impact on the world and to better people's lives. This is why our engineers find a deeper sense of purpose through engagement with the Core Curriculum -- they understand how important the human context is to every engineering challenge and solution.
If you're interested in pursuing an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. after college, our Office of Pre-Professional Advising within the Berick Center for Student Advising provides guidance on pre-medical requirements, identifying the best-fit medical school, and navigating the application process.
