Meet Bucknell
Bucknell is one of the nation’s preeminent liberal arts universities and Division I schools, offering a world-class learning experience where you’ll be mentored by outstanding, award-winning professors.
With more than 60 majors across three colleges — Arts & Sciences, Engineering and the Freeman College of Management — you can explore many different interests and graduate with an array of in-demand skills. We make it easy to add a second major or a minor if you choose to expand your educational reach.
At Bucknell, you’ll have the funding and faculty support you need to complete and publish undergraduate research. Perhaps you’ll develop a way to filter carbon out of the air, slowing the rise of global warming. Or uncover a financial trend before anyone else. Or engineer a cheaper way to bring clean water to communities in need. We’ll give you the tools and guidance to make a better world.
Our 3,700 students enjoy a low student-faculty ratio (9 to 1) and a campus where high-tech labs far outnumber giant lecture halls. Because we have very few graduate students, our priority is personalized, experiential learning for undergraduates — beginning the day you arrive.
Our Journey to Bucknell program seeks out the brightest leaders, learners and innovators and invites them to visit Bucknell and explore our welcoming, world-class campus. The program is designed to introduce high-achieving, traditionally underrepresented high school seniors to Bucknell, including students who identify as African American, Asian American, biracial/multiracial, Latinx, Native American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, first-generation, religiously diverse and/or LGBTQ. We also support students through our optional first-year T.E.A.M. Peer Mentoring Program, Pre-Orientation and mentoring programs for students interested in fields like the sciences and engineering, and our GenFirst!@Bucknell mentorship program for first-generation college students.
